Before coming to Yale, Kirsten completed an AB in Classics at Princeton University and an MPhil at the University of Oxford. Her research explores the social history and literature of the Roman world, with a focus on authors of the Flavian period, Roman slavery, and the history of childhood and education. She is also interested in textual criticism, book history, and translation studies.
