The Anti-Racism Reading Group committee is pleased to invite you to attend our upcoming meeting discussing Helen Maria Chesnutt and her co-authored Latin textbook ’The Road to Latin’ on Friday March 31st at 12 noon. We are excited to announce that one of the leading scholars on black classicism (a.k.a Classica Africana), Professor Michele Ronnick, will be joining us for the discussion via zoom! She is the author of ‘In search of Helen Maria Chesnutt (1880-1969), Black Latinist’, the complementary piece of reading we have assigned for this session. This will be a wonderful opportunity to speak with Professor Ronnick and learn more about the development of the Classica Africana movement.
