We are pleased to announce the following events for the WHC-funded American Classicisms working group this spring:
-
February 23rd: Jackie Murray (University of Kentucky), an event led by the Yale Classics Anti-Racism Reading Group and supported by American Classicisms.
March 30th: Tom Willis (UCL) will be presenting on the poetry of W. H. Auden.
April 27th: Roundtable discussion on the subject of “Why American Classicisms?”
We are also hoping to schedule a field trip this semester, likely to the Olana State Historic Site in New York, former home of neoclassical painter Frederic Edwin Church. Details will follow in due course, but this will tentatively take place on Friday 3rd March.
