The Classics Department celebrates Daphne Martin (left) and Christina Pao. Daphne, a graduating senior, has won a Paul Mellon fellowship for graduate study at Clare College, Cambridge; Christina, a current junior, has been named a Truman Scholar, and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in demography in order to advocate for the internally and externally displaced. Daphne has already been admitted into the MPhil in Classical Art and Archaeology; her fellowship will fund up to three years of graduate study at Cambridge. Christina is pursuing a B.A. in classics (ancient Greek and Latin) and a joint B.A./M.A. in political science, focusing both on the socio-historical development of “citizenship” and the politics of migration.
