Zhenghe Ma joined the Classics and Philosophy Combined Program in 2024. Before coming to Yale, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) and an honors program in Classical Studies at Peking University. During her undergraduate education, she spent the penultimate year as a visiting student at Columbia University and the University of Oxford.
Zhenghe’s primary academic interest lies in ancient moral psychology and metaphysics, especially the late-period dialogues of Plato. Her current focus concerns the role of various affective states in shaping human moral development. She is also interested in ancient medicine, music and mathematics. In her spare time, she is an enthusiastic lover of sights and sounds.
